When to book a flight
Hello everyone!
Today we begin to talk about tips & tricks, that is, those little tricks that are used to spend a little less.
In particular, this time, we focus on the intercontinental flights.
Suppose you want to go to Peru, to make us a nice ride from Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca.
1) There are two possible approaches, each with its own advantages and disadvantages:
- Book in advance. Plan your trip several months before will check the best prices.
- Book last minute. not plan your trip, look for the flight only a couple of days before departure, will allow us to take advantage of places that remain free, that will almost certainly "sold out".
It takes love for the risk, of course, but ... "nothing ventured nothing gained" :-)
2) Regardless of when we decide to buy the flight, it is important NOT FIND A FLIGHT ROME - LIMA, BUT IS SPLIT IN TWO
first leg (round trip) -> departure city - international airport hub near the city of destination
second way (round trip) -> hub airport near the city of destination - the destination city
In our case, for example, go on the site of eDreams or expedia and type in Rome - New York, or Rome - Atlanta (hub specifically for a direct flight from South America), never Roma - Lima.
will buy two separate tickets for two routes: Rome - New York (or Atlanta) - Rome, New York (or Atlanta) - Lima - New York (or Atlanta).
Note: when we are not going to make a couple of days stopover in the Big Apple or Coca Cola in the city (why not? Now ...), we will try to get and from the same airport in New York (or Atlanta).
These tricks are for all seasons, but obviously we can get greater savings in high season (August, Christmas ...). In this way, in our case, you can switch from a cost of about 1600 € to 800 €.
try!
:-) I did it! And Peru is beautiful!
good trip at all, friends! Until next time :-)
